Bill Moyers' "Buying the War"

Bill Moyers' Buying the War Since I downloaded and watched this over the weekend, I have been sending the link to everyone I know. It presents as well as anything I have seen (not that this story has been covered much) the willful abdication of the Washington Press Corps’ responsibilities in revealing the perfidy of the Bush Administration in the run-up to the Iraq Quagmire. Only the US Congress was more supine in the face of the Administration’s lies, dissembling and outrageous unsupportable claims (Saddam and al Qaeda? Was America really stupid enough to buy that?).

The piece also vindicates those of us who understood what was really going on and further indicts members of Congress (such as most Democratic Presidential candidates) who claim “we only voted for war because we were lied to,” since Moyers shows clearly that the truth was being reported by a few intrepid individuals and was accessible to anyone, like your favorite guntard, who wanted to find it.

This is not strictly firearms-related, but it illustrates the grave danger our Republic faces when the Fifth Estate cannot be bothered to take their jobs seriously.

Watch it now.
