First occasional Guntards.net shoot a huge success!

Ruger 10/22; M1903 Springfield; M1 Garand; Mossberg M1944; Henry Golden Boy; another Ruger 10/22I got to Angeles Ranges around 9:00am and not a moment too soon, either, as the rifle range was filling up. Paula at the front desk said the LA Pink Pistols hadn’t been around in several months (not that I could complain; I hadn’t been there in two years).

Now when I go to the range and think there’s a possibility I’m going to be meeting some people, especially the gun noobs that Pink Pistols attracts, I usually bring lot of guns, mostly rimfires and always my M1 Garand.

So today I had two Ruger 10/22s; a Mossberg M44 bolt-action .22; my Henry Golden Boy lever-action .22; the M1 and my Springfield M1903, both in .30-‘06. Plus four handguns, two pistols and two revolvers. That’s a lot of guns for just one guntard.

Well, no other guntards showed.

Busy day at Angeles RangesFair enough. However, Terry, once the head of the Orange County Pink Pistols, did show up. He was looking for me but didn’t recognize me because the last time he saw me, about three years ago, before the tragic accident, I had facial hair. I went over to the handgun range and showed him my Erma .22 Luger that apparently didn’t work (I had never tried to shoot it before) and in fact managed to get a round stuck in the chamber just as a cease-fire was called. Yes, folks, sometimes we can really put the tard in guntard. The RO seemed unconcerned, however.

About noon I packed up the official Guntards.net GTO and headed home.

Maybe next time we’ll see one or two more guntards.
