Zumbo's redemption continues

Zumboed Guntard Mike Kelly has brought to our attention an excellent letter to the US Senate penned by Jim Zumbo. Apparently, Zumbo is pissed off that Senator Carl Levin has been using his name in vain, specifically, quoting Zumbo’s ill-considered remarks about AR-15s being “terrorist rifles.” Zumbo pointed out that he quickly repudiated those remarks and Senator Levin knows it.

A US Senator making deliberately dishonest public statements? Say it ain’t so!

The best part is how Zumbo drew attention to Levin’s vote against the Vitter Amendment, which was designed to prevent New Orleans-like confiscations of firearms in the event of future emergencies. Zumbo’s language referring to “the taking of private property without warrant or probable cause,” reinforced the fact that such confiscations are already illegal according to the Bill of Rights. I think it would be cool if someone – anyone – would ask Senators Akaka (D-HI), Boxer (D-CA), Clinton (D-NY), Dodd (D-CT), Durbin (D-IL), Feinstein (D-CA), Harkin (D-IA), Inouye (D-HI), Kennedy (D-MA), Lautenberg (D-NJ), Levin (D-MI), Menendez (D-NJ), Mikulski (D-MD), Reed (D-RI), Sarbanes (D-MD) and Schumer (D-NY) what their problem is with the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution they were all sworn to uphold.
